I’m back from my trip to Southeast Asia. What a wonderful time in so many ways. Amongst other things, I taught nearly 80 private composition lessons, and gave a lectures on Compositional Process, Essential Thoughts for Composers, and True Beauty. It was an incredibly rewarding time, and the gratefulness and kindness of the students was SO encouraging. More rewarding than composition awards or biography items. The students were at all different levels, and were from all over the Philippines; and I left feeling like I had been able to make a significant investment in their work, for God’s glory.

Also, in other news, my Arise Shine CD is now playing on Pandora! I opened up my “Modern Choral Music” station this morning, and the first song that played was Oread Farewell. If you’re on Pandora, take a listen, and if you feel like it, help tie it to other pieces that you think it should connect with.
