New orchestration for There Is Faint Music

There Is Faint Music was Hal Leonard’s top-selling Christmas anthem last year. I had some requests for an orchestration for it, but never had a commission or a chance to write it on my own. This year, the Columbus, IN Children’s Choir has commissioned an orchestration for it, and will be premiering it on Sunday Dec. 5.

I’ll be selling the orchestration myself (not Hal Leonard). It should be available mid-October, in time for preparation for Christmas. If you’d like to purchase it for this Christmas, let me know via my contact form, and I’ll get you on the waiting list.

Here are my two favorite videos of There Is Faint Music (with piano accomp). (Note that the anthem is available for SATB or SSA.)

Congrats to the Hwa Chong Choir!

The Hwa Chong Choir (Singapore) sang A Basque Lullaby as part of their program at the Festival of Songs in Olomouc, Czech Republic, last month. They won the competition. Listen and you’ll hear why.

Orchestrations

In addition to the new releases in the audio player over on the right (church and concert), I wanted to also point out the two new orchestrations now available through Beckenhorst: John Ness Beck’s Every Valley, and my own The First Noel. Here’s the audio mockup of The First Noel. (Of course, you’ll need to pause the other audio player, to listen to this).
