Well- the website here turned into all-out CD marketing, the last couple months, and accordingly has been very quiet. But with a new year it’s time to look ahead to what’s in store, Lord willing:
Audio excerpts of selected tracks from two all-Forrest CDs to be released soon: The Music Of Living (concert choral music from the last two years) and Never A Brighter Star (Christmas music). Both will be for sale on this website, soon, starting with The Music of Living, Oct 25.
Texas Master Chorale now has CDs available of the concert in which they premiered my Te Deum. For details see http://www.texasmasterchorale.org/shop/.
The Te Deum will also be on my CD, “The Music of Living”, which will be released in a few weeks. Spreading the Forrest-Works!
This is the kind of acoustic that this piece was born to be performed in.
New audio of Psalm 8 SSA version, from Hal Leonard. I’ll have a better recording of the 2011 National Honors Choir singing this, on my soon to be released CD, but in the meantime, this is quite nice! The SATB version comes out in a few months- looking forward to making this piece available to mixed choirs. Both are with piano, violin, and djembe.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Here’s some video from the VOCE recording session. Not bad for “take 1″.
Pictures and info from this weekend’s trip to Indianapolis now posted on Facebook! My recording trips are done…now for editing, mastering, and duplication over the next 4-6 weeks…look for two CDs available here on my website, by mid to late October.
In Paradisum (published by Hinshaw 2010) will be performed Nov 12 at the new (incredible) Palladium in Carmel, IN, paired with Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, by the Carmel Symphony.
It will then be performed the following weekend by the Oak Ridge Symphony (TN), paired with a new violin concerto.
Also, I’ve just been commissioned by the Northampton Bach Choir (Northampton, UK) for a brass and percussion version of In Paradisum, for their May 19, 2012 concert, paired with the Rutter Gloria.
So if you’re in Indiana, Tennessee, or Northampton UK, consider attending!
Video of the premiere of Entreat Me Not To Leave You in Argentina yesterday is now posted on my Facebook page. Wanted to let you know in case any of you happen to follow my blog but not my Facebook posts.
It’s probably worth your time to go watch the stunning performance by the Salt Lake Vocal Artists. They pretty much brought the house down.
